The
Deschutes 9-1-1 Employees Association was formed in 2003, and
represents about 30 highly trained emergency service professionals who
serve the population of Deschutes County, Oregon, and the
immediate surrounding area. The Association is an independent, represented organization that reflects the spirit and goals of our members, who exercise total control over the Association's activities and identity. The mission of the Association is to improve the employment relations between its members and the 9-1-1 Service District. This includes negotiating on behalf of dispatchers and call-takers, representing members in labor disputes, and providing members with legal representation. The Association is governed by an all-volunteer Executive Board, comprised of members who have a vested interest in maintaining positive employment relations, establishing fair and appropriate benefits, and promoting a positive public image. Legal representation is handled by the law firm Snyder & Hoag, LLC. This partnership offers members over 45 years of combined public safety labor organization experience. This independent structure also ensures that members can exercise autonomous self-control over the organization, making the Deschutes 911 Employees Association a truly representative labor organization.
